Dr Matteo Colombo (Tilburg University, The Netherlands) was awarded a "Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers" by the German Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He will work on a project named "Predictive processing, computational psychiatry, and delusion. The case of Cannabis", which is hosted by Professor Andreas Heinz from the Clinic for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at Charitè University Clinic Berlin and the Berlin School of Mind and Brain.

International Rationality Summer Institute 2016

The first "International Rationality Summer Institute" (IRSI) will take place from September 04 - 16, 2016, in Aurich, Northern Germany. Topic of the IRSI is human rationality from a psychological, philosophical, and neuroscienctific perspective. Advanced undergraduate students, PhD students, and PostDocs may apply for the institute by April 15, 2016. More information is available on this page.

Entropy Workshop from February 15-16, 2016


From February 15-16, 2016, a Workshop on Entropy took place in Ludwigsburg, Germany. It was organized by Prof. Laura Martignon and Prof. Gabriele Kern-Isberner, both of whom are principal investigators in the SPP1516. The workshop was a big success and will be continued soon. Best Student Paper Award to Henrik Singmann

Dr. Henrik Singmann, who did his Ph.D. during the SPP1516's first funding period, was awarded the first "Best Student Paper Award" presented by the SPP. The award includes a prize money of 500 Euros. The winning contribution is the article "New normative standards of conditional reasoning and the dual-source model" (Singmann, H., Klauer, K. C. & Over, D.), which appeared in the Journal "Frontiers in Psychology" in 2014. We congratulate Dr. Singmann on his award and wish him all the best!
